Chak De’s Komal Chautala turns to Fashion…

October 23, 2008

It was her rough language, which did as much talking as her hockey stick in Chak De India. However, with Madhur Bhandarkar, she is singing a different tone altogether as she gets into the world of glitz and glamour while being a part of Fashion.

Chitrashi Rawat, popularly known as ‘Komal Chautala’ of Chak De India, would next be seen in Fashion.

She will be playing the role of a model coordinator and turns out to be an integral part of the plot.

Interestingly, her presence in the film has been a closely guarded secret and was kept under the wraps for almost a year since the film came on floors.

“How did this come to your notice; there was not much being spoken about this part. Let this be a surprise element”, exclaims Madhur Bhandarkar, director of Fashion.

Talking about the length of her role in the film, Madhur says that she would be seen in four scenes.

However, each of them is integral to the film’s plot. “She had made a terrific impression in just these four scenes. Yet again, she is a firebrand in Fashion and doesn’t mince any word. I have liked the way she has approached her character and made it look so convincing and real”, says Madhur.

Starring Priyanka Chopra, Kangna Ranaut and Mugdha Godse in the lead, Fashion is all set to hit the screens on October 29. Other Diwali release to arrive on the same day is Golmaal Returns.

Body of Lies [2008]

October 23, 2008

Director:  Ridley Scott
Stars:       Leonardo DiCaprio, Russell Crowe, Mark Strong (Full Cast)
Studio:     Warner Bros. Pictures

The Plot: In Jordan, an ex-journalist (DiCaprio) working to locate an Al Qaeda leader for the CIA faces pressure from an agent (Crowe) for whom failure is not an option.

User Rating: 7.8/10

THE BUZZ: Ridley Scott gets his war on again, with a screenplay by William Monahan (his first credit since The Departed, and perhaps an effort to erase the memory of his previous collaboration with Scott). I wonder if this one is being positioned as Oscar bait, because it looks more like Hollywood’s savvy attempt to finally profit from this gosh darn war. Do you think Crowe and Monahan teased Scott and DiCaprio on the set for not having any Oscars? Another question: Did the first trailer engage you, or leave you feeling like you don’t have any idea what the movie’s about? If you feel confused by it all, good luck with the second trailer.
