Ranbir shoots song after grandmother’s death

Ranbir Kapoor shot for a special last-minute song in the movie Rocket Singh – Salesman Of The Year soon after losing his maternal grandmother.

The young actor was very close to his grandma Rajee Singh (his actress mother Neetu Singh’s mother) who lived in his house and in fact, in a room right opposite his and was constantly in and out of her favourite grandson’s space.

But the day after her death, he was dancing to choreographer Ahmed Khan’s tune.

“We had to cancel one day’s shoot because Ranbir’s ‘naani’ (grandma) passed away. But we managed in two days,” said Khan.

“Even I was surprised when Aditya Chopra approached me for a song in Rocket Singh…. Then I heard the track by Salim-Suleiman and I was blown. It’s a sure-shot hit,” said Khan who is riding high on the waves of the Dhan te nan track from Kaminey.

The song was apparently Chopra’s and not Amin’s idea.

“I’ve a five-film deal with Yash Raj, so I am at their beck and call. And if it’s a song for Ranbir, then it’s even more fun,” said Khan who has forged another durable star-choreographer bond with Ranbir after Shahid Kapoor.
